LAMB’S TIRE & AUTOMOTIVE EXPANSION BRINGS JOBS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH TO ROUND ROCK Local business leaders salute the growth of an Austin Original
City Leaders from Round Rock & Austin Help Lamb's CEO Ron Meredeith Commemorate their New Round Rock Location - Lamb's Teravista
Lamb’s Tire & Automotive was honored today with a ribbon cutting and grand opening led by the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce to commemorate their new location in Round Rock. City leaders from Round Rock and Austin gathered at the state-of-the-art automotive service center to celebrate the growth of an original, local business. Attendees enjoyed the greetings of Hollis Bone and Ron Meredeith before enjoying tours of the new facility and a Texas cookout.
“Having the support of both the Round Rock Chamber and the Austin Chamber for this new store location was critical for us,” said Meredeith, CEO of Lamb’s Tire & Automotive. “Lamb’s may be a genuine Austin original but we’re more than that: we are here for all of our Central Texas friends and neighbors to grow where they grow.”
The new location is at 4101 Sunrise Drive near the Chandler Retail development (IKEA, REI), Scott & White Hospital and the Teravista Home Community.
Hollis Bone, SVP Bank Manager of Wells Fargo and emcee of the event, said in his speech opening the new store, “Community leaders like Ron Meredeith don’t do business just anywhere, they go where they can do the most good. Ron and Lamb’s saw a need in this community for trustworthy auto repair and maintenance services and we at the Round Rock Chamber couldn’t be more pleased to have another Lamb’s Tire & Automotive shop in our community.”
The new store location will provide new jobs to the Round Rock community and the anticipated revenue growth will have a positive financial impact on the economy at large and for local organizations.
Meredeith said, “it’s not enough for Lamb’s to ‘do it all’ for our customer’s cars, we want to do more. Lamb’s has a tradition of giving back to our community schools and charitable organizations that do real, tangible good in Central Texas.”
The now 16 Lamb’s locations around Central Texas offer a full range of automotive repairs and maintenance. Lamb’s provides the highest quality maintenance, guaranteed repairs, fast oil changes and the best prices on tires that customers have come to expect. That coupled with the company’s integrity and passion for the surrounding community are what have helped Lamb’s to grow over the last 24 years.
Meredeith said, “Lamb’s has found our place in the community and we’re not stopping here. As our beautiful cities expand and flourish, we’ll be there every step of the way doing our part for our friends and neighbors.”

We all know it’s June but apparently the weather thinks it’s still April, what with all the showers we’ve been having. Sure we can use the rain but it can be problematic when when it comes to driving. Just to make sure you and your family are safe out there on the road, Lamb’s has some rainy-weather tips for all our Central Texas drivers.
Tires: The most important element for wet weather safety.
The tread in your tires is specifically designed to keep water away from your tries and the road. With the appropriate tread depth, tires can more easily grip the road and prevent fish-tailing and gliding.
To check your tread depth, put a penny inside. If you can see President Lincoln’s head, you should look into new tires.
Your neighborhood Lamb’s has every tire brand at the best prices in town. Swing buy and talk to any one of their ASE-certified technicians and they can fit your car for new tires.
Windshield Wiper Blades: See as clearly as you can
Old and cracked wiper blades don’t move water as easily as new ones. Streaks on your windshield can reduce your vision in addition to the rain shortening your vision. Go to Lamb’s to get your blades replaced if your windshield is streaked and blurry.
Headlights & Tail Lights: Be seen
A good rule of thumb, is to have your car’s lights on if you use your wiper blades. In fact, in some states it’s the law!
Be sure to keep your lights on when it’s raining and check them before you drive away to see if they are bright enough. Dim lights on your car reduce your ability to be seen by other drivers. Dim lights either because of old bulbs or dingy lights are easy to fix. Head to your Lamb’s Tire & Automotive and the technicians can get your lights shining bright for any weather.
Standing Water: Turn Around Don’t Drown
It maybe hard to believe but even a little standing water can have devastating effects. If you can’t see the road under water, don’t drive through it. A few things can happen if you attempt to drive through a flooded street.
The water can effect an electrical system and force it to stall, leaving the driver stranded.
The water can be deceptively powerful and sweep cars away.
It’s possible to drive straight through, but it’s risky. Be safe, and find an alternate route.
Take your time. Wear your seat belt.
Our last safety tips are common sense.
Give your self plenty of time to get to and from your destinations during inclement weather and drive defensively. And, always make sure every every driver and passenger wears their seat belt.
If you need assistance with any of these car safety issues, there is a trusted Lamb’s location near you. Visit our website to find the one closet to you and check our Specials page to for deals and savings.
Be safe, and don’t let the rain get you down. After all when it’s over, Austin and all our Central Texas nature will be beautiful and green.

AUSTIN, Texas – Lamb’s Tire & Automotive President and CEO Ron Meredeith presented a check for $12,133.67 to the Neighborhood Longhorns Program (NLP) Tuesday night at the organization’s annual dinner. Lamb’s has worked with its customers for more than a year to raise funds in support of the NLP, a University of Texas affiliated non-profit that offers educational support to area youth, and Meredeith chose this occasion to announce the donation.
“The NLP is a phenomenal organization that delivers positive value for children in our community,” said Meredeith. “At Lamb’s, we and our customers share the NLP’s passion for our community and for our children’s education.”

Customers were given the option to double their contribution, and many took the opportunity. The NLP VIP Card and donation program continues to be in effect for 2010 and the local business has big plans.
“We want increase our contributions to the Neighborhood Longhorn Program next year. Everyone who drives a car and loves children can help us.” said Meredeith.
“We are part of the fabric of this community,” said Meredeith. “We want to invest back into the communities where we work and live.”
“Thanks to Lamb’s support, the Austin community will be helping over 5,300 students in grades 2 through 8 improve their academics and aspire to higher education,” said Celina E. Ruiz-Snowden – Executive Director of the NLP.
The Neighborhood Longhorns Program has served the Austin community by promoting outstanding education for Austin’s school children since 1991. To participate in the Lamb’s / NLP program contact Jody Bell with Lamb’s (jbell@lambstire.com).
